Chromosomal instability and chromosomal alterations are key drivers of tumour initiation, evolution, heterogeneity, and response to therapy. From aneuploidy and translocations to chromothripsis and ecDNA formation, cancer cells frequently experience catastrophic genomic events that reshape their genome and massively change their phenotype. To explore this topic, this conference will bring together leading experts in Berlin, Germany. Join us to hear about the mechanisms, consequences, and therapeutic vulnerabilities associated with genomic rearrangements and to learn about how chromosomal chaos shapes cancer biology and opens new avenues for clinical intervention. The target audience for this conference is basic and translational and clinicians, both senior and young investigators from academia and industry, who are interested in various aspects of chromosome biology as it relates to cancer. Speakers: Samuel Bakhoum (Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth/Volastra Therapeutics, USA) | Renata Basto (Institut Curie, France) | Uri Ben-David (Tel Aviv University, Israel) | Christina Curtis (Stanford University, USA) | Aurélie Ernst (DKFZ, Germany) | Daniele Fachinetti (Institut Curie, France) | Jan Korbel (EMBL, Germany) | Susanne Lens (UMC Utrecht, Netherlands) | John Maciejowski (MSKCC, USA) | Florian Markowetz (CRUK Cambridge Institute, UK) | Sarah McClelland (Bars Cancer Institute, UK) | Nicholas McGranahan (UCL, UK) | Serena Nik-Zainal (University of Cambridge, UK) | David Pellman (Harvard University & DFCI, USA) | Ofer Shoshani (Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel) | Beth Weaver (McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research, USA) Keywords: cancer research, oncology, chromosomal instability, cancer initiation, tumour evolution, tumour heterogeneity, aneuploidy, translocations, chromothripsis, ecDNA formation, cancer genomics, CIN models, chromosomal mis-segregation, whole-genome doubling, gene fusions, telomere attrition, indel, centrometric instability Deadlines: Travel Grant application deadline: 07 September 2026 Abstract submission deadline: 07 September 2026 Registration deadline: 05 October 2026
