2025 Family Medicine Advocacy Day

On Thursday, February 1, 2024, 32 family physicians, family medicine residents, and medical students from across Maryland attended the 2024 Family Medicine Advocacy Day. Of these attendees 17 were practicing family physicians, two were retired physicians, five were residents, and six were medical students. MDAFP and the Advocacy Day attendees advocated for the chapter's main legislative priorities. The feedback from attendees was positive. Members who have attended in the past enjoyed leading their groups as they advocated to legislators during their meetings. First-time members enjoyed the experience and learned a lot about the legislative process. We want to especially thank the leaders and preceptors who engaged other colleagues, family medicine residents, and medical students. The Maryland Academy of Family Physicians is the largest professional medical specialty society in Maryland. Its 1500+ members are practicing family physicians, family physicians in training and medical students.
