Why a conference is no longer in search
Updated 26 Oct 2026 · 1 min read
A conference leaves search when its final day has passed, and it leaves the open-calls view when its submission date has passed. Neither removes it from anything you saved.
A listing is never deleted here. Past editions hold links and history, so an edition that has ended keeps its address and stays readable. What changes is that it stops appearing in search results.
So if you cannot find a conference you remember, the two reliable routes are your saved list and the series page. The series page lists every edition of a conference, including the ones that have ended, and it is linked from any edition page.
If a conference was cancelled, the listing stays reachable and says it was cancelled. Any date you had ticked stopped sending on the day the organizer told us.
If a listing has been unpublished it shows a page explaining that, rather than disappearing. An address that once worked here is not supposed to break, and if you find one that does we would like to know.
