Appealing a decision about your listing
Updated 26 Oct 2026 · 1 min read
If a submission is declined, the email gives you the reason and your events screen carries an appeal form for that decision.
One appeal per decision. It is read again, by a different moderator where staffing allows, and the reviewer who made the original decision is recorded so that routing is possible rather than aspirational. Where an appeal succeeds, the listing goes back into the review queue rather than straight onto the site.
A submission declined a second time can be appealed again.
Unpublishing a listing that was already live is handled differently, and we would rather say so than let you assume otherwise. The reason is recorded in our audit log, but today we neither email it to you nor put an appeal form on your screen. Ask us through the contact page and we will tell you the reason and look at the decision again.
If somebody has reported your listing, you can respond. Two answers are honest and they are different: you can dispute the report, which opens a case somebody has to decide, or you can accept it and correct the listing, which is not a dispute and does not open one.
Whatever the outcome, the reason is written down. That is what makes an appeal answerable a year later.
