Claiming a listing you did not create
Updated 26 Oct 2026 · 1 min read
Anyone with an account can add a conference here, so a listing for yours may already exist without you having made it. Claiming it hands you the editing.
The quickest route is an email address on the conference's own domain, or on the institution's. A close match — a departmental subdomain of the university the conference site sits on, for instance — counts as evidence and is the normal academic shape. It is evidence rather than authority: nothing here approves a claim automatically, because a matching domain is exactly what somebody registering a lookalike domain would also have.
Where that route is not open to you, a line added to the conference website works, and a person checks it by hand.
Claiming is free and changes nothing about where the listing ranks. An unclaimed listing is not demoted, and claiming it does not promote it. If a listing has a wrong date and you cannot wait for a claim to go through, tell us and we will correct it.
Your claim gets a reference you can quote. That reference is deliberately random rather than sequential, so that it cannot be used to read somebody else's.
