What each promotion product buys

Six products, listed with their prices and their caps on the pricing page. What follows is what each actually does, which is the part a price list does not tell you.

Spotlight is a full-width band above the listing grid on the field page for your listing's field. The catalogue also names country pages, and those do not carry the band today — we would rather tell you that here than let you find out from a report. More campaigns can be running than the band shows at once, so the visible ones rotate by the minute rather than on every page load: a reload does not reshuffle the band under a reader's cursor, and each campaign gets an even share across an hour. You will not always see your own, which is why the report counts impressions.

Featured puts your listing at the top of the results grid for its field, with the promotion label, on the field page and in search results filtered to that field. It does not rotate: every visitor to those pages sees it. It also takes the labelled promoted slot in the similar-conferences row on other conference pages in the same field. That is part of Featured and is not sold separately.

A newsletter placement is a slot in the monthly field digest. A dedicated send is one email about your conference alone. A social post is a post on our accounts. All three are written, booked and sent by a person here, with the timing and the wording agreed with you first. None of them happens on this site, so there are no impressions to count and your report will not show any — a zero there would read like a failure rather than like a different kind of product.

Enhanced listing buys one thing rather than the three its name promises. A longer description and the session programme already show on every conference page that has them, paid or not, and are held back from nobody — so what you are paying for is the organizer logo. It appears in the organizer block on your conference page, beside your name, in place of the initials mark, for as long as the campaign is delivering; a listing without one keeps the initials. Send us the file and a person here attaches it, so there is nothing for you to upload. The checkout says the same before you order.

Spotlight and Featured are capped per field, and a full field refuses the sale rather than overselling the page. A dedicated send is capped at one per organization per quarter. Both refusals happen when the order is placed, not afterwards.

None of this affects where your listing appears in ordinary search results. Nothing does. The code that orders search results cannot see campaign data at all.
