Why your listing is not appearing in search
Updated 26 Oct 2026 · 1 min read
Four common reasons, and the first two account for most of them.
It is still in review. Every listing is read by a person before it goes live. Most are decided within two working days and you get an email either way.
We asked you for something. If a detail was missing we hold the listing rather than declining it, and your events screen shows which fields we highlighted. The listing stays out of search until you answer.
The search that is being run excludes it. This catches more people than it should. A fee ceiling keeps listings with no fee on file, but the free-to-attend filter excludes them, because a listing that has never said what it costs has not claimed to be free. A listing with no submission date will not appear under open calls for papers. And a search for a phrase that is not in your listing anywhere will not find it — relevance to the words typed is what decides the order.
The conference has ended. Ended editions leave search entirely. The listing keeps its address and stays on the series page, and the way to be in search again is to add the next edition.
One reason that is never the answer: not having paid for anything. Promotion has no effect on organic results, and an unpromoted or unclaimed listing is never demoted.
If none of these fit, get in touch and we will look at the listing itself.
